When a Playground Builds Community
As this project took off, construction became riddled with bad weather and, in the end, made heroes out of city staff and volunteers. Their perseverance was captured in every aspect of the plan and drew additional media attention through photo and video documentation shared on the website and social media.
The stories and momentum behind this campaign lent themselves to numerous unscheduled opportunities for volunteers to be in the spotlight. One such spotlight was Boy Scout Zach Holt, whose project was to build and donate 50 saw horses.
He was captured saying, "When the community can come together and help build this park, the parks' gonna help build the community." With that said, the very nature of this plan was to show how many lives we touch, making it a larger-than-life experience.
