Corten Steel Sign Design
Logo and Graphic Design
The Nook outdoor classroom was a community collaboration led by the Denton Rotary Club, Public Library, and the Parks and Recreation Department.
I was honored to design a logo and sign for an outdoor nook that represents more of what's needed...space that is open to all.
The logo represents an outdoor classroom with a book, butterfly, and leaves. The stacked book spines identify sponsors and donors that can be seen from different angles of the program area. The sign is backlit for nighttime display, with light passing through the spines and book pages.
Triple Play
Award Winning Collaboration
If there's one thing craft beer drinkers and park supporters have in common, its purpose, and once embedded, it fosters loyalty. With that in mind, I designed a meaningful beer label fit for storytelling that was used to launch the campaign.
Triple Play represents the three organizations that make up this collaboration and is built on one of Denton Parks's brand pillars of the Unite, Grow, Play mission. It's designed visually to reflect how it benefits the community as it's layered over a psychedelic drawing of Evers Ballfield and a topographical map of its location.
Being meaningful and generating a design based on a cause supports authenticity needed to amplify the story because, interestingly, beer labels trigger 60% of the reason Millennials make a purchase.
